13. See Chris Colfer’s STRUCK BY LIGHTNING at Living Room Theaters

lightningThe second movie in our 365PDXq double feature this weekend is STRUCK BY LIGHTNING, written by and starring GLEE’s out and proud Chris Colfer and now playing at the Living Room Theaters in down town Portland.

In the film, Colfer plays a sarcastic high school outcast with his eyes set on becoming the youngest editor in chief of The New Yorker.  With the assistance of writer buddy Malerie, played by the hilarious Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Bridesmaids), they blackmail the popular kids into helping making their literary magazine a success that will pave the way to college and beyond.  Yes, there is a lightning.  And, yes, someone is struck by it.

Great cast, too.  Allison Janney, Christina Hendricks and Dermot Mulroney (no, not Dylan McDermott).  And, it is directed by Brian Dannelly, who made the delightfully twisted SAVED!  Go see it, then pop over to Scandals for a post-movie drink.
